Let's Make Valentine's Biscuits!

Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to get little hands busy in the kitchen and create something yummy. These heart-shaped biscuits are easy to make, fun to decorate and utterly delicious to eat.

Top Tip: We have doubled the original recipe and frozen one half into a sausage shape, so we can slice and bake a cookie whenever we fancy one!

(We followed the Easy Iced Biscuits recipe from BBC Good Food.)

Ingredients:

  • 400g butter
  • 400g golden caster sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or the zest of 1 lemon
  • 800g plain flour, plus extra for dusting

Heat oven to 200C or 180C fan.

Method: Cream the butter and sugar, beat in the eggs and carefully stir in the flour until you form a soft dough. Roll out to 1cm thick, cut out heart shapes and place on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool then decorate!
