Keep your little ones looking cute and feeling cool with these easy, sunshine-ready hairstyles. From playful plaits and beachy braids to colourful ponytails and fun festival looks, these styles are simple to create and perfect for holiday.

1. Summer Space Buns

- Create a centre parting from the forehead to the nape, and clip each section aside.
- Brush one side into a high ponytail on the crown and secure tightly, then repeat on the other side. Divide each ponytail into two sections, twist into a rope braid, then wrap the braid around the base to form a bun. Secure with an elastic and a few hairpins.
- Repeat on the other side and finish with pretty scrunchies for an extra-special touch!
2. Twirl and Clip!

- Create a centre parting, then work on one side at a time.
- Starting at the front hairline, take a narrow 2cm section and twist it tightly, adding more hair as you work towards the top of the ear. Secure with a cute claw clip. Repeat twice more beneath the first twist to create three neat twists on one side.
- Repeat the process on the other side to create a total of six pretty twists. Finish by decorating each twist with colourful claw clips for a fun and playful look. Claw-tastic!
3. Braided Pony

- Create a centre parting, then divide the hair at the front on one side into two small square sections. Secure each section with a small elastic to create two mini ponytails.
- Repeat on the other side to create two more mini ponytails. Gather the remaining hair at the back into a ponytail and secure with a hairband.
- Twist each of the four mini ponytails into rope braids, then bring them back and add them into the main ponytail. Secure everything together and finish with beautiful scrunchies for a colourful, playful look!
Holiday Hair Tips!

And while you're creating cute summer styles, don't forget to keep little locks healthy too! Here are our top tips for beautiful summer hair:
-
Follow the SOAK method – rinse hair with fresh water before swimming to help reduce the amount of salt and chlorine it absorbs.
-
Detangle after swimming with a gentle kid-safe conditioner, and opt for protective styles like braids or buns to help prevent knots and tangles.
-
Spritz hair with a leave-in conditioner or a children's UV-protectant mist before heading to the beach or pool.
-
Avoid brushing dry, salty hair where possible. Instead, use conditioner to help gently work through tangles first.
-
And if in doubt, pop on a sun hat – preferably a Rockahula one, of course!
